An evaluation asks students about a specific teacher teaching a specific course. So Lernmark needs to know two things: what your courses are, and who teaches each one this school year. You set both up in the Course manager.
Courses and offerings
Two words matter here:
- A course is a subject in your catalog, for example, "Introduction to Biology". It exists year after year.
- An offering is that course actually being taught in a particular school year by a particular teacher, for example, "Introduction to Biology, 2025 / 2026, taught by Ms. Nkeng". The offering is what students are evaluated against.
Why the distinction matters
A course is the idea; an offering is the real class this term. Feedback is always attached to an offering, so the right teacher receives the right results.
Step by step
- Open the Course manager from the dashboard.
- Add your courses. Create an entry for each subject you want to evaluate. Give each a clear name.
- Create this school year's offerings. For each course being taught this term, create an offering and attach it to the school year you set up earlier.
- Assign a teacher to each offering. This tells Lernmark who is teaching that class, and therefore who the feedback is about. A teacher must have accepted their invitation before they can be assigned; see Add your teachers.
Only set up what you will evaluate
You do not need to enter your entire catalog. Create the offerings for the classes you plan to include in this round of evaluation. You can add more later.
How this connects to the evaluation
When you later launch a campaign, Lernmark matches enrolled students to the offerings they take and the teachers who teach them, automatically. You do not have to pair students with teachers by hand. That is why getting offerings and teacher assignments right now saves you work later.

- Each class taught this school year exists as an offering.
- Every offering has a teacher, so feedback will reach the right person.
