Teacher Evaluation

Monitor & moderate

While a campaign is live, you have two jobs: keep an eye on how many students are responding, and review comments before they become visible. Both are done from the Evaluations area.

Monitor participation

Open your campaign to see its operations view, described as: "Resolve assignments, monitor participation, and manage the campaign lifecycle." It shows:

  • Participation rate: the share of students who have responded so far.
  • Responses: how many answers have come in.
  • Average score: the overall rating, once enough responses exist to show it safely.
  • A breakdown by department, course, and school, so you can see where response rates are high or low.

Students and their teachers are grouped together, so you can see completion for each class at a glance.

Why some numbers are hidden

To protect anonymity, an average score stays hidden until a class reaches a minimum number of responses. This prevents anyone being identified when only a few students have answered. The number will appear on its own once enough responses arrive.

Send reminders

If participation is lower than you would like, you can send reminders to students who have not yet responded, straight from the campaign. If you turned on Auto notifications when creating the campaign, some reminders go out automatically. A short, friendly nudge near the deadline usually lifts response rates.

Moderate comments

Moderation means reviewing written feedback before it appears in reports, so anything inappropriate can be handled first. The Moderation tab has separate queues:

QueueWhat it holds
Anonymous commentsStudent comments waiting for approval before they appear in reports.
Teacher responsesReplies teachers have written, waiting to be published back to students.
Structured sectionsThe Strengths, Suggestions, Concerns, and Additional notes from submissions.

Review each item and approve it when it is suitable to share. Moderation keeps reports constructive without changing the scores students gave.

Set expectations with staff

Let teachers know that comments are moderated before they appear, so they are not surprised by a short delay between a student submitting and the comment showing up.

Closing the campaign

When the closes on date arrives, the campaign moves to Closed and stops accepting responses. You can also close it early if every class has finished. A closed campaign keeps all its results.

What you achieved

  • You can see participation in real time and act on it.
  • You have sent reminders where needed.
  • You have reviewed and approved comments so reports are safe to share.
