Admissions

Admissions is how new people join your school: you record applicants, move them through review, make a decision, and turn those you admit into students. Open Admissions from the dashboard, described as: "Record applicants and move them through the review and decision pipeline."

What an applicant is

An applicant is someone applying to your school who is not yet a student. An applicant carries a status that shows where they are in the process. As you work, you move each applicant from one status to the next.

The stages

StatusMeaning
SubmittedThe application has been received.
Under reviewSomeone is assessing the application.
AdmittedThe applicant has been accepted.
WaitlistedAccepted in principle, waiting for a place.
RejectedNot accepted this time.
WithdrawnThe applicant pulled out.
EnrolledAdmitted and turned into a student.

Step by step

  1. Record an applicant. Create an entry with the applicant's details.
  2. Review the application. Use Review to assess it and move it to Under review.
  3. Make a decision. Set the status to Admitted, Waitlisted, or Rejected.
  4. Convert admitted applicants to students. Choose Convert to enrollment. This turns the applicant into an enrolled student and gives them a way to log in: the same one-time activation described in Students and enrollment.

Filter by status

You can filter the list by status to focus, for example, show only applications that are Under review so nothing waits too long.

Where admitted applicants go

Once converted, a former applicant becomes a student in your Student registry, ready to be enrolled in class sections. Their journey from "person applying" to "student in a class" is complete.

What you achieved

  • New applicants are recorded and tracked by status.
  • You have reviewed and decided on applications.
  • Admitted applicants are converted into enrolled students.
