Exams and results covers formal assessment: how you grade, how teachers enter scores, and how students receive their results and report cards. Open Examinations, described as: "Enter exam marks and set up how grades and term reports are calculated."

Set up how you grade (administrator)

Before scores are entered, an administrator defines the grading scheme: the rules that turn raw marks into grades. This usually includes:

• the minimum and maximum marks (for example 0 to 100),
• the pass mark, and
• letter grades: bands that map a score range to a letter, such as 70 and above being an "A".

You also set up term sequences. A sequence is one assessment point in a term (for example "Midterm" and "Final") and each can carry a weight (how much it counts toward the term result). Weights let a final exam count for more than a mid-term test, for instance.

Enter scores (teacher)

Teachers open the exams screen for the classes they teach and enter each student's raw score for a sequence. Lernmark applies your grading scheme to turn those scores into grades, so teachers only enter the marks.

Publish results and report cards

Once scores are in and checked, results are published to students. A report card is the official summary of a student's results for a term, printed with your letterhead. Students see them under My results, described as: "Your published term results and report cards."

What students see

Logged-in students open My results to view their published term results and download their report cards. They only see their own results.
