Getting started on the platform has two parts: opening your workspace, and then giving your institution its identity: its profile, its brand color, and its official letterhead for printed documents.
Open your workspace
Creating a workspace is the same first step as in the Essential guide, so rather than repeat it, follow Create your workspace. You will sign up, choose an edition, verify your email, and land on the administrator dashboard. Then come back here.
If your workspace was set up for you
On some plans your workspace is created for you and the first administrator is invited by email. If that is you, just accept the invitation and log in; see Roles, staff and access.
Find your settings
From the dashboard, open Settings, described as: "Platform and school administration: workspace, academic, evaluation, billing, and platform configuration in one place." Settings gathers your configuration into labelled cards. You will only see the cards your role and edition allow.
Two cards matter most when you are starting out: Branding and Letterhead.
Set your brand color
Open the Branding card. It lets you "set your school's primary brand color: it applies across the app on buttons, active navigation, and accents." Choose the color that represents your school. It is applied throughout your workspace, so the platform feels like your institution rather than a generic tool.
If you run more than one institution in the same workspace, each can carry its own color; one that has none simply uses the shared default.
Set your letterhead
Open the Letterhead card. The letterhead is the official header printed at the top of your documents: timetables, report cards, transcripts, and certificates. You can enter:
- your institution's name lines (in more than one language if you need them),
- a motto,
- your address,
- your school logo, and
- an optional watermark (a faint background mark on printed pages).
Once set, every printed document carries a consistent, official-looking header.
Do this before you print anything
Set the letterhead early. Then the first report card or certificate you produce already looks official, with no rework.
What you achieved
- Your workspace is open and you are logged in as an administrator.
- Your brand color is applied across the platform.
- Your official letterhead is ready for printed documents.
Next, bring in your team and decide who can do what: Roles, staff and access.
